Starting in the Fall of 2003, Holy Cross College, Notre Dame, IN, inaugurated a four-year program leading to a Bachelors Degree in Liberal Arts. One of the components in this program is the required class Through the Eyes of Faith, An African Learning Experience. As part of this course all students in the BA program visit Ghana. Hosted and taught by Holy Cross in Ghana, the students spend three weeks studying the culture, economics and environment of the people there; as Christians, they also study the mission, faith, humanity and vocation of the Holy Cross Brothers and church there. The goal is both academic and spiritual enrichment. Seven students, accompanied by Fr. Mark Ghyselinck, CSC, who works in campus ministry and teaches at Holy Cross College, travelled to Ghana this summer.
