Brother Leonard Charles Siwierka, C.S.C.

Leonard was born in Elyria, OH, attended elementary school in McKeesport, PA and graduated from Elyria Catholic High School. He worked briefly as a stock manager in Elyria and Lorain, OH and joined the Brothers at Watertown, WI, in 1951.

After his novitiate year he was assigned in 1953 to cook and study at Vincent Hall at St. Edward's University in Austin, TX. He worked as a staff member at the Ave Maria Press at Notre Dame for 5 years and in 1959 served on the staff of Boysville in Clinton, MI, for 10 years. He returned to the staff at Boysville for 11 more years. Then in 1998, he served as a pastoral associate at St. Agnes Church in his home parish of Elyria where he renewed close ties with both family and friends.

Leonard coupled his many talents with his cheerful, outgoing and confident personality. He was generous with his time in helping others. For years he was closely associated with the Knights of Columbus being supportive of their mission and activities. He loved music and was the organist at many liturgical functions wherever he served.
